   Property Location/Description being appealed: 11 Galilee Way, Newtown,
    CT, 06470
   Reason for Appeal: Believes property taxes are higher than comparable homes with the
    same square footage, number of bathrooms and bedrooms, age of home, size of lot, and
    general condition of the property.
    Board Discussion/Resolution: Approved. Decrease the house assessment by $40,000.

   Reason for Appeal: Believes property was over assessed due to condition of the
    buildings.

   Property Location/Description being appealed: 50 Charter Ridge Drive, Sandy Hook,
   CT, 06482
    Reason for Appeal: Owner stated that Chase Manhattan Bank conducted an assessment
    on their property and they devalued the property to $770,000. Believes the property is
    over assessed.
    Board Discussion/Resolution: Denied. No change based on valuation from JP Morgan
    dated November 2008.

4. Stephen & Laureen Collins
   Date: 3/3/09
   Property Location/Description being appealed: 3 & 7 Todds Rd, Sandy Hook,
    CT, 06482
   Reason for Appeal: Believes both houses are over valued because land is in flood zone,
    and neighboring houses devalue the property. No updates were ever done to the house.
   Board Discussion/Resolution: Pending. Inspection needed and any changes will be
    made based upon the completion of inspection.

   Property Location/Description being appealed: 140 Hattertown Rd, Newtown,
    CT, 06470
   Reason for Appeal: To correct the following omissions: credit for traffic, back lot, and
    wetlands. Received them last year, but did not carry over for this year.
   Board Discussion/Resolution: Approved. Adding -10% off for topography & wetlands,
    and -5% for traffic.

    Reason for Appeal: Believes house is valued too high based.

    Reason for Appeal: Property is being assessed as buildable land but land is non
     buildable.
     Board Discussion/Resolution: Approved. Decrease the land assessment by $40,000.

    Property Location/Description being appealed: 60 Butterfield Rd, Newtown, CT,
     06470.
    Reason for Appeal: Inaccurately assessed due to being charged for having a finished
    basement since 2006, but basement is unfinished.  
     Board Discussion/Resolution: Approved. Finished basement has been changed for
     2007 & 2008. Assessor’s Office will take off finished basement for 2006 and credit will
    refunded.

10.     Paul & Diana Voland

Property Location/Description being appealed: 42 Brushy Hill Rd, Newtown, CT,
06470
Reason for Appeal: Assessment is incorrect. Finished basement is not 996sq/ft maximum of 400sq/ft. No woodstove which is stated on the field card & excess drainage from Brushy Hill.
Board Discussion/Resolution: Approved. Change finished basement area to 400sq/ft, take off wood stove, and give -10% for topography.

Reason for Appeal: Property increase seems unreasonable due to the condition of the property. The outbuildings have no value, topography issues, very small lot, on a dirt road, and the condition of the house is fair to poor.
Board Discussion/Resolution: Approved. Delete the shed only 72sq/ft which is under the sq/ft should be no value. Change to house condition to fair, and -25% topography.

Reason for Appeal: Parcel is landlocked, there is no legal access to property. Newtown geological survey shows that most of the acreage is wetlands, there is no site that should be used for a building. Land has no use that can be determined other than wetland preservation.
Board Discussion/Resolution: Approved. Change fair market value to $46, 447 based on Keogh per acre market value of .5883.26/acre.

        on the sale price in April 2006.

Reason for Appeal: Assessment too high based on condition of the property. House and garage are not in good condition, rock and ledge on the property, topography, in an R-2 zone but only has 1.43 acres.
Board Discussion/Resolution: Approved. Change the condition of the house from good to average, -15% topography, reduce the garage value by 15%, and change fair market value of property to $261,310.

Reason for Appeal: Assessment on land is too high. Property has not been able to sell for $210,000. It is a back lot needing a wetland crossing and estimates for a driveway start at $100,000.

Board Discussion/Resolution: Approved. Revert assessment back to $213,960 and change zone from R-2 to M-2. And adjust factor from 1.18 to 1.17.
